.: fresh hope :.

Here's a random gift for you. I shot this rose when I went to Huntington Library. There weren't that many flowers yet since it was technically still winter. Make it into postcards, print, anything you can think of.

.: beautifully written :.

So proud that my friend is a wonderful writer. Read her aptly titled entry here : Swapping My Glass Slippers for Pink Chuck Taylors

.: visually impaired :.

Note to self : never ever switch contact lens solution randomly, especially when you're half awake. Totally forgot I switched to a brand new solution last night and just pop the contact lenses into my eyes before rinsing the solution with regular saline. It feels like you pour tabasco onto your eyes. And what made it worse? Rubbing them until they're swollen. It was epic. Now I have to squint while looking at my monitor screen because my eyes are sensitive to bright light. But homework must go on, along with belated youtube wednesday. Here goes :

I can't believe Gerard Butler is not there! And oh, hello, Christian Bale? How about Josh Radnor, people?

.: scrapbooking artist :.

image & original artworks belong to Lie Fhung©2005

Others (a.k.a my snobbish professors) may consider my digital scrapbooking hobby as grandmotherly, but I beg to differ. Because of my obsession with digital scrapbooking, I found more Indonesian artists that I may never heard of. Today I found this on my digiscrap newsletter, and fell in love with her exhibition. Too bad the pictures are way too small, but I'm interested to see the whole collection.

.: brilliant photographs :.

Has anyone seen Katie's artworks? Her photographic styles are very creative and fun, you wish you thought of 'em first!

.: have a little faith :.

Disorganization has been my weakness for the longest time. I tried but in the end my room looks like the sale section of The Container Store combined with Target's.  Two days ago I was rushing to school, and since there are times I forgot my keys, I double check my giant purse for them. (I hang an oversize keychain, in a shape of a cute camel so I can find them easily) Little did I know that my wallet is lying cozily on top of my bed, still snuggling under my blanket. I went to school, parked my car at my usual safety net(when I'm running late for class), the SFMOMA parking structure. When I was in line to pay, I found out I forgot my wallet (for a moment I thought somebody stole it and was freaking out with cold sweat and minor heart attack) Embarrassed and panicked, I told the cashier that I may have lost my wallet. He looked at me like I was a crazy lady who did not want to pay for my parking spot. Then I offer to leave my camera as a guarantee, but I begged him not to lose it because there are some pictures for my projects that I haven't transferred to my computer yet. Then he took a pity of me and told me that he'll pay the charges for me, I didn't have to leave anything as a guarantee. He only asked me if I could, please remember to give him back the money anytime. When I came back the next day he was so surprised and grateful; he thought I'd just run away. How nice and sincere of him to helped me without expecting something in return, risking his own job. There are still good people in this world, apparently. And I'm glad to be reminded once in a while so I won't lose hope in humanity.

.: Miracle :.

Miracle, originally uploaded by Make Studio | Marty Coleman.
How very true is that? How many of us have brilliant ideas but have no guts to make them works? Instead we came up with dozens of excuses per idea. Well at least that's what I usually do. :p
There are more neat napkin drawings with the story behind them here.
