I'm already surrounded by Orla's target stuff but I don't really own her signature product: the stem bag. I still regretted the fact that I didn't get the small stem tote, but it seems that she came up with cute stuff every season :) The pear one will match my Orla for Target collection .. the blue is so pretty! I think the scratchy stem is way cuter than her plain stem collection, plus the navy handles look so good.. The white leather with perforated suede maybe not very Orla but it looks sophisticated enough for the 'early 30s'.... LOL

I've never been to a flea market before but I've always wanted to go, so yesterday we went to the monthly Alameda Antiques by the Bay event. It was extremely packed. There were about 300+ vendors offering unique items. I was so tempted to buy lots of stuff but since I only have $40 in my pocket I decided not to. The vendors were super nice and friendly, and if you ask politely they'll give in to your asking price. I bought lovely vintage laces that you cannot find in regular craft stores. I'm not sure what I'll do with them but those who knew me well are probably familiar with my obsession with lace :) Here are some pics from the flea market:

A couple of final MFA students from my school teamed up for their thesis project and held an exhibition about a month ago. It's called 'WHAT THE *#&! IS SOCIAL DESIGN' I went to the opening but were confused because there's no explanation about the exhibition and it was very packed that day. I was too busy working the room, catching up with my friends & barely noticed the exhibition itself, and there's an ice cream machine so we were on the beeline for it. :p

Apparently they have a video camera right where we were hanging out... and here's the time lapse video. Can you guys spot me? *hint: I wear red cap & carrying a big white bag*

I found out a very disturbing news earlier today: I still have 9 classes left & instead of graduating in spring 2010, I'll be finished a semester later, fall 2010. I was like, what the...?? This has turned out to be a 4 years program! This means I cannot walk next year, I have to wait until 2011! In a way I'm glad to have more time here, but with the bad economy, tuition raised, getting-old-and-still-in-school feeling... another 4 months mean a lot! I love this school, I love graphic design, but 4 year grad school is just too long!! *sigh* I feel a little stuck but this time there's really no way out of it. Either I just ignore the age factor, get a shrink & keep going at it or quit now. And I hate quitting. I guess I just have to make the best of it.
