I found new places to throw my moolah away when we went to 3rd St Promenade a couple of days ago. Brandy Melville is like a slouchy wonderland; full of soft, oversized, drapey t-shirts that fits almost everyone. I always wanted to try the casual, simple, shabby look of Southern Californians but for whatever reason it just does not work for me. While some girls can look super chic with slouchy, off shoulder t-shirt; it makes me look like an oversized homeless. So I skipped the tees and go straight to the accessories bins. Look what I found!
Aren't they fun? They're as close as I can get to real hardware.
Another store that I found was this store. They have AMAZING stuff. The patterns are beautiful, love the silky blouses and the embroideries are gorgeous. They are also crazy expensive. Maybe one day I can afford them. We'll see.

.: The Great Missoni Race :.
I've never owned a Missoni before; aside from their products are ridiculously expensive I also don't think I can pull off wearing colorful chevron pattern all over my shapeless body. There's a possibility that some lines may look über-stretched in several areas and I don't want to risk it. Then Target announced a collaboration project with Missoni. Suddenly I'm crazy about zigzags. Since my sister-in-law and her mother are big fans we decided to go on Missoni hunts, or shall I say Missoni race. It did feel like a crazy race. I woke up at 4AM on Sept 13, went on target.com only to find that the site was down. We went to the store at 8AM and the Pasadena location was practically raid. In another location, women ran from parking lot to the store, knock each other over a pair of shoes. Hoarding of zigzag stuff everywhere. There were some women who form a coalition and only trade stuff between themselves. A woman left her son with a complete stranger while she was trying a cart of clothes, and ended up buying clothes that are 3 sizes too big. We haunt fitting rooms and customer service, digging on stuff that people returned. I went to Target in cities I've never heard before. It was madness. I wasn't planning to get a lot of stuff but in the spirit of the day ended up with tons of Missoni goods. My Missoni fever went on for a couple of days, but thankfully I'm quite recovered now. I'm returning most of the clothes (or eBay...) and will only keep the home goods.

I've been too busy juggling scrapbooking, playing facebook games and researching thesis (2% of my time) that I haven't got the time to haunt blogs and etsy. Some cute findings on my web haunts:

.: curse of online shopping :.
Current obsessions:
Anthropologie basically rules my wardrobe. Every single season. Everything that I bought from them remains my favorite for the longest time. I still like everything I got from them 10 years ago (I just can't fit into them anymore :p)

.: urban obsesser :.
I've been told that people are bored with my 'Anthropologian' wardrobe & suggested that I should try different styles. While I beg to differ (I have a signature style, so sue me!), I thought maybe it's fun to have a variety, and lately I've been obsessed with anything Urban (not too far from the sister company Anthropologie, eh) Bags, shoes, accessories... everything. I usually can't pull off anything Urban but whatever ... as long as I like it.
My fave urban bag is back! It's a tad different than my usual bag, and it looks so cool!

so cute with white t-shirt + black blazer + jeans

.: facebook + me :.
I no longer use facebook to connect with people or show off the latest pictures of food that I took. Now I login to play games from Pet Society to Restaurant City or their latest one, Country Story. I rarely check others' pictures and status updates (unless they're too good not to comment on) and how I hate the little ads on the sides that kept on showing wedding rings, bridal photography, and 'Obey these rules for a Flat Tummy'. Who set up these things?? Today my eyes were caught by one of those ad and willingly clicked the link. Look what I found!

.: even more shoes :.
Some people said that shoes are chocolate for the feed. I, apparently, would like to slather as much chocolate as possible on my feet because I'm so very obsessed with shoes. Why? Because my feet is stable; it will not go up a size or two so whenever I tried on a 5.5 it will fit. And shoes that I got 6 years ago will still fit me today, unlike my jeans. Plus I love my toes. (the last one is just my failed effort to justify all the shoes purchases) Everyone who stop by my shoes rack will say the same thing: they all look the same. Open-toed with bow on it in white, burgundy, black, black+white... And I'm obsessed with Ferragamo's Varina because they have sweet little bow on them. I used to stay away from flats because I feel so short and stubby but I CANNOT walk around in SF with high heels, unlike some people I know (she-who-lives-right-next-to-my-room, hats off to you missy).
Therefore I tried to branch out and have more variety in my shoes collections. (this one is hopefully a more successful attempt to justify my last purchase) Something like these are my latest nightmares (and yours too, Mr S, just wait and see! muhuahaha):

.: will work for shoes :.
Pedicure is one of the things that make me happy for a very long time. My roomie & I found this gem just right across the street and we were sold instantly. The place was so nice and clean, the vietnamese ladies were nice and courteous (they don't gossip about us loudly!), they served us home-brewed Starbucks coffee, and they have massaging recliners! I got my money worth alrite! I haven't had any pedicures since.... last November. Can anyone imagine how nasty my feet looked? LOL ... I felt a bit bad for my pedicure lady, she has to scrub all those callouses. My toes look so pretty and my legs were so soft and glossy!
And then we went to Nordstrom Rack and ruined our bank account. Well mine, mostly. I couldn't resist this beauté by Chloé (oooh, did Stella design my shoes?) I'm still feeling very, very, very bad but I'm so reluctant to return them... I'll make sure I put them to good use and dear friends, please don't let me buy anything else until..... next month. I may need to open an etsy shop to pay for my shoes.

.: online window shopping :.
I'm already surrounded by Orla's target stuff but I don't really own her signature product: the stem bag. I still regretted the fact that I didn't get the small stem tote, but it seems that she came up with cute stuff every season :) The pear one will match my Orla for Target collection .. the blue is so pretty! I think the scratchy stem is way cuter than her plain stem collection, plus the navy handles look so good.. The white leather with perforated suede maybe not very Orla but it looks sophisticated enough for the 'early 30s'.... LOL
