Uh oh ... look at all the food I got... no wonder I gained weight so fast, how can I resist? :D My mum cooks good food for me everyday, bought me some new sheets so I got spares. Life's real good! Now how can I get rid of my muffin-shaped tummy? :p

.: taking things for granted... :.

There are times I forgot how easy my life is. Kept on complaining day after day when things went wrong. I forgot to appreciate the little, simple things in life. I'm blessed to never live a day without shelter or food. Water is abundant, I got lights when it's dark, and no one forbid me to read Lolita (I just chose NOT to). My friends are just a phone call away, and they always listen patiently to my non-sensical whinings. Why so mellow, you asked? Because there are times people took me for granted too, and obviously it hurts me. So please, appreciate what you got now, don't weep for things you already lost, and never stop trying to live life to the fullest (oh how naive it sounds, but SERIOUSLY!!)

And on that context, here's what I found on Jessica's blog.

on a more shallow note, I took Starbucks' Peppermint Mocha for granted...
thinking they will always have it during wintertime... guess not... :(

.: it's cold outside... :.

Definitely not the kind of weather that makes me in the mood to go outside and play today (oh well it is Fall, and it is SF ... but still!) I saw this tutorial from my fave blog and decided to get myself the Shrinky Dinks kit but I haven't got the chance to try it until today. I always lost my keys since I have no keychain (I got plenty back home but forgot to bring them with me last aug and haven't found one that I really like just yet) and decided to MAKE some for me and my friends. I set my oven on 300ยบ, heat the shrinkies for 2 minutes. I failed miserably on my first attempt (I tried to flattened it when it's almost cold and they cracked- d'uh..) Learned from my mistake, I flip them when they curled up (after about 2 min) and put them back inside the oven asap (another 2 min). They're still a bit lopsided, but at least they're flat!!!

.: After the Afterlife :.

Ever since I joined AIGA I just decided to take advantage of my memberships by going to their events. They held fun events, serve good finger foods and sometimes bottomless beer, and of course, I scored many paper-freebies. (altho he seemed non-chalant about this, but I think my friend was reaaallly ashamed of my behavior towards freebies.... oh well.) Last night was their Fall Gala, and the fashion design department of my school took part in it by having a fashion show, creating dresses out of recycled materials. It was actually pretty neat and we had tons of fun. You can see more picture here, here, here and here.

.: gelaskin :.

Just like what I posted last week, I love Max my MacBookPro with all my heart. It's on the top of my list of what items I will save in case of fire. Max accompanied me almost wherever I went, so it got some scratches on the surface :( How nice it'll be if I can cover it with this:

.: hungry, no time to cook and broke? :.

Ah, what a situation... It's 9PM, you just got home, tired, want to just jump off to bed but you're STARVING! Frozen food is no good but you're too lazy to cook gourmet... What to do? Chop everything you have in the fridge, and stir fry 'em with a pinch of salt and *gulp* sambal oelek if you're up to something spicy. And voilร , your dinner is ready. (my former roomie will be so proud of me... you inspired me!! :p)

.: freebies! :.

I think I have paper fetish, my heart leaps whenever I saw beautiful papers. Seriously. I'm not being overdramatic here. I've been collecting pretty paper since I was still in high school and now I have several drawers full of papers. I especially love to have paper samples from paper mills because usually they are well designed. Some aren't free, but we can get some when we go to design shows. I went to an event where Michael Vanderbyl was the speaker *He is amazing! such a good designer and speaker* I learned a lot, had fun (beer & wine to your heart content!) and got loads of paper samples. And today I went to Flax to pick up some paper for my project. My jaw dropped just the minute I walked in. Almost three rooms filled with paper! Handmade, recycled, Italian, Japanese, Chinese silk brocade paper... I know they're not a scrapbook store so they don't have that much scrapbook papers, but so much fun!

Found this on Presentville.com, really neat... a bit expensive though :(
But how nice if I can have it on the wall behind my desk, then I won't forget my homeworks anymore... :p

.: neapolitan madness :.

Whoever created neapolitan ice cream was a genius. Strawberry: good. Vanilla: Good. Chocolate: GOoooOd! Why do we have to choose when we can have all three? Which one do you eat first? I usually finished my vanilla first and save the strawberry for last. I think the color combination is so pretty too... they work together so nicely!

.: ferry building & marketplace :.

It was raining hard on Friday since early morning, but it didn't stop me from going to the Ferry Building near Pier 1 (real one, not the store). The building itself is very nice, the stores are a bit too fancy for me. Most of the products in the market were nicely packaged, so I'm inspired. I love the small bookstore tuck on the corner of the building. Got myself some books there, and today I realized that SF Public Library near my house have extensive collections of books that I want to read, so I'll borrow next time. And save my money for thanksgiving vacay... hmmm...

.: Sad-tur-day :.

Actually it's not a sad saturday :p . I just choose to stay at home and rest since last week was extremely hectic. I decided to do more researches before I do my projects. And to stay away from the call of the mall, considering it's Columbus Day weekend.
I went to Japantown yesterday and found a small store - Daiso style and got several cute stuff for about $1 each! I will upload the pictures later on! *Daiso is the 100yen store from Japan* I think it's interesting how they call the area Japantown but there are so many Korean restaurants and chinese restaurant in there, and the Japanese food is not as good as what they have in LA's Little Tokyo; or maybe I went to a wrong place. I guess next time I yelped ahead before I went there. :p

Pad Prik Pao (spelling?!) from Marnee Thai
Starbucks' San Francisco souvenir mug, do they have it in another city? Lemme know!

Hurrah! I'm finally settling down! I've moved to a new house, so happy! It's a bit far from my school, but it's closer to the beach and Lake Merced. My room feels so cozy already, and I've started some small decorations... :) So I'll be waiting for you guys to visit me soon, mkay?!

.: luv blue :.

I'm trying to make my temporary-room tolerable, so I put on my new quiltcover and pillowcases, tidy up a bit... and open my new nigh-light! I think I will decorate my room in blue! So calming and pretty... despite with all the chaotic mess around it... I can pretend it's an Oasis, the place I ran to whenever I'm exhausted with my projects... :)
